These captivating stones have a history dating back to 4000 BC, with archaeologists discovering them in a Kenyan cave and linking their origins to Ethiopia. In ancient Greece, opals were considered powerful oracle stones, believed to enhance clairvoyance, and were said to fall from the sky in flashes of lightning. In South America, opal was thought to be a gift from the Inca earth goddess, Pachamama. Queen Victoria is also said to have gifted opal jewelry to her daughters at their weddings, drawn to the stone’s mystical significance.
