Along with being absolutely beautiful, bismuth formations were one of the leading inspirations of Magic The Gathering's giant, world ending monsters know as the Eldrazi. Within a lot of the artwork, you'll see a lot bismuth formations that really flesh out the alien aesthetic they were going for. If you're a nerd like us, you'll always be on the lookout for them the next time you are slinging some spells with friends.

As for some more scientific aspects of the metal, Bismuth or BI is atomic number 31 on the periodic table of elements under the poor metals category. It is a brittle metal often occurring in its native form with an iridescent oxide tarnish showing many refractive colors from yellow to blue. This is an example of a lab grown specimen grown from the melt at 520 degrees Fahrenheit and forming a trigonal (or rhombohedral) crystal system. These amazingly colorful specimen can range from rainbow to iridescent blues and purples.

According to metaphysics: Bismuth is believed to be an element that stimulates energy, vitality and can help you achieve your goals, especially when working as part of a team. It may be used to support transformation by aiding travel between the physical plane and realms of astral and spirit. It is also thought to help with visualization while shamanic journeying. Lastly, it is believed to aid in relieving feelings of overwhelm, isolation and loneliness.

Do not place near pyrite as it may discolor.
